Just Around The Corner

Kristen is ready to POP! She is rounding out her final trimester with our sweet princess Kindree, and she can't wait for this to be over. Don't get me wrong, she loves being pregnant. Or should I say that she loves aspects of pregnancy. The cute belly, with the adorable waddle. The baby kicks, with the constant requests "Babe! Come here and feel this!" It is hard to imagine that a brand new life is just around the corner.

As most of you know, almost 4 years ago, we lost our son Connor. It was a devastating, life changing experience. Kristen didn't even know if she ever wanted to try for another baby. Yet, here we are. Years later, we can see the blessings that came from such a tragic event. We have learned to appreciate so much more these days.

I rub Kristen's feet more. I am quicker to get up and help her; and if she has a pain, I am the one pushing for her to go get checked out. Kristen has been such a blessing during this pregnancy. She struggles to keep up with me at the mall, and doesn't come running as quickly when I call out from the bathroom for a roll of toilet paper. But I know all to well, how adorable it is to be in a hurry, and look back at her struggling to keep up, yet she still gives me that smile and says "I'ma comin babe!"

Kindree is set to be here any day now, and it seems so surreal that we are anticipating a little one again. This means baby stuff, like crying and giggles; diapers and bottles. "Don't touch that" and "Here hold her." Then, we will bliink, and Kindree will be a toddler. Our other two living children are already so big. Just days ago, it seems, that I was 19 and welcoming my first born son Cabren into this world.

Time is funny. I don't feel like it has been almost 10 years, since my first child, but man life has moved quickly. Not long ago, it seems, I was fresh out of high school, and then BOOM, today I am a successful business man, with a mortgage, and a hot tub. Where did all of this time go? I know one thing for sure, it will all keep going by. I'm 28 right now, but 50 is just around the corner.
